CPA of Ohio: Domonique Moore

This week’s CPA of Ohio is Domonique Moore, a senior accounting major at Cleveland State University.

What was it like growing up in Cleveland, OH? 

I'm the youngest of five kids, so I always had someone to play with. I'm a first-generation college student, so not a lot of people around me went to college or knew much about it. In my free time, I usually volunteer when I have the chance because I like giving back to the community. My friend's grandmother runs a community center that does food drives and when I was unfortunately laid off in 2020 due to COVID, I would be there every weekend.  

Where would you like to travel to?  

The day after the Accounting Careers Leadership Academy, I went to Canada which was at the top of my bucket list. I went to Niagara Falls and it was amazing. The second travel destination on my list is Chicago, but in general, I want to try to go places via Amtrak. I want to try traveling via Amtrak because it seems less stressful than the airport, especially because of COVID.

    However, as we submitted the export docs to the auctioneer for the tax refund process , we were advised that the tax has already been remitted to the Ohio Tax Department.

    Please advise if you can help us for the tax refund process and also how much do you charge us for such a process.

    FYI, the unit has been exported from US and the proof of export is available upon request.
